Craig's Doctor Watson Scarf

I've been naughty on the whose '30 Days of craft photos' plan, haven't I? I shall make up for it in the next couple of weeks!

So, here is the Doctor Watson scarf you have read about, and heard about if you listen to Knitzors. If you haven't then I shall explain.
Whilst watching Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows at the cinema, Craig mentioned how much he liked Watson's scarf, the next day we popped into our local yarn shop and bought the yarn, he chose the colours he wanted, being green and brown.

The original pattern can be found here, and is a great base pattern, which didn't work out for me so I made a few alterations.

You can read my pattern below:

You will need:

100g ball of DK in Brown
100g ball of DK in White
100g ball of DK in Green     (I used Tivoli Eurospun Block Buster DK)
4.5mm needles

Cast on 44 stitches with Brown
Knit in K1, P1 rib for 16 rows.
*Change to White.
Work 4 rows in rib.
Change to Green.
Work 16 rows in rib.
Change to White.
Work 4 rows in rib.
Change to Brown.
Work 26 rows in rib. **

Repeat from * to ** until your scarf reaches just short of desired length.


Change to White.
Work 4 rows in rib.
Change to Green.
Work 16 rows in rib.
Change to White.
Work 4 rows in rib.
Change to Brown.
Work 16 rows in rib.


Cast off in rib.

Weave in ends and add tassels if you want.
